Hosted by: Caribbean Basin and Hispanic ATTC The Cultural Elements in Treating Hispanic/Latino Populationsis a training that provides information for professionals that work with Hispanics/Latinos who want to improve their skills and effectiveness from service delivery to policy development. Culturally responsive strategies are discussed as demographic information and cultural nuances are outlined. This training includes the following objectives:
The information referenced in this training was derived from a curriculum developed using The Cultural Elements in Treating Hispanic Populations: Dialogue on Science and Addiction guide of the Caribbean Basin and Hispanic Addiction Technology Transfer Center written by Dr. William A. Vega.

ACTION ALERT: Tell the Governor to Restore State HIV/AIDS Funding This week the California state legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger reached a budget deal that includes a restoration of $52 million in funding to HIV/AIDS prevention, education and care that were cut in last year's budget. The Governor is expected to sign the budget by the end of the week and we must make sure this funding remains in place.
